Something ends so something better can begin. The old API is dead — long live the new API. Deprecation is not a tragedy, it is maintenance done right: clearing out the legacy cruft that's been quietly rotting in the codebase since 2016. Remove it with ceremony and no regrets.

The thing that should have been deprecated three years ago but somehow still has callers in prod. Death reversed is the zombie feature nobody owns but everyone depends on — kept alive through sheer inertia and fear of the unknown blast radius of removing it.
